Allow me to brag about myself a bit. My name is Max and I’m estimated to be about 10 years old. (It’s my secret and I’m not telling.) I will share some of my other great characteristics! My coat is a beautiful black color and my pictures show me wooly and groomed. I’m a healthy 24 lbs. neutered and current on my shots. I’m very resilient. My owner couldn’t care for me and my older brother, Franz, so we were sent to a shelter. Schnauzer Love Rescue stepped in to give us a loving foster home. We both had skin issues. (Our hygiene was badly neglected.) When I saw the nice foster lady, I pranced right up to her to let her know I was ready for a bath and a soft place to sleep! Franz had some medical issues that were beyond healing. Shortly after finding our wonderful foster home, I had to say a final good-bye to my sweet brother. You could say I’ve been through a lot. And yet I still find a reason to smile and give affection. My foster mom calls me a grinning teddy bear!

I love to cuddle. If you initiate, I will gently play with you. I like some activities, but peace and quiet is good too. I listen well and obey my commands. Sometimes you need to speak up a little to be sure that I hear you. If I hear you, I always come when I’m called. If you attach a leash to my collar I will take you on a walk. I am fully housetrained. I’m told that I have something called a chip, which is not a potato chip so it’s not important to me. I don’t have a lot of teeth, but the ones I have were recently cleaned and work well. My foster mom helps by cutting up some of the larger bits and I give it my best shot. I understand the importance of the pack and I patiently wait my turn at mealtime and treat time. I love my pack mates. I hope my forever home will have some doggos to play with! (Although if I feel the attention is not distributed equally, I may vocally admonish.) We all like car rides and I exhibit excellent behavior with my seatbelt attachment.
