Handsome ‘Pepper’ was pulled from a shelter after SLR was contacted. He is being fostered in FL. He is enjoying a fenced in yard to roam in with his foster’s dogs. If after reading Pepper’s biography, you are interested in knowing more details about him, please complete an adoption application on the SLR web site and enter ‘Pepper’ as the handsome boy you would like to provide a forever home to.
Pepper is 10 – 11 years young. He has natural ears and a docked tail. He weighs 14 lbs. Of course he is neutered and up-to-date on all of his vaccines. As you may have guessed, Pepper has a beautiful black coat. He is house trained (has free roam of the house), crate trained and leash trained. He will bark when he wants to go out and when he wants to come back in to the cool air-conditioning. He had a dental and had several teeth removed – the rest are pearly white.
‘Pepper’ needs a buddy (no Alpha or large dog) to hang with. He is blind in his left eye from an injury and has a beginning cataract in his right eye. He is deaf but knows when it is time for his dinner and his treats! ‘Pepper’ can be fearful and reactive (bark/growl) to new people he meets outside his safe home environment. Once he realizes they are not a threat to him or is foster mom he is a very happy boy!
