Griffin is a gorgeous, friendly, happy, energetic young male seemingly younger than the
3-year-old age placed on him at the Animal Shelter in April 2026. He is being fostered in North Carolina and is house trained. He has used an open crate in the past but does not like the door closed. He is in perfect health and LOVES to play with toys. He especially likes chasing a ball and will bring it back to keep the game going! Griff also loves to run and chase other dogs, and he just saw his very first cat. He claimed to not know what they are, is curious about them, but he is also cautious. He even initiated play!

Griffin loves to eat but is not necessarily food motivated. He is slow to try new foods,including treats, and will take a new treat but bury it in furniture to save for later, until he decides he really likes it. Then he will devour it quickly.

Griff is an alpha dog. He likes to boss the other pets and take the lead on walks.but he would love to have a doggie playmate in his new home. He loves going on walks and will pull on the leash until he gets tired. Then he will lay in a shady area on some grass to recover. Griffy is very talkative and has a loud voice for a tiny, 12-pound boy. He is learning not to bark at every dog he passes. His coat is light grey, and is accented with white and tan markings, mostly around his face, but with a white wishbone on his behind, and white legs. Griff has natural ears, a docked tail and very short legs.

Griff loves to sit with his humans and is friendly to all ages. He LOVES to be carried. He also likes to sleep on the “big” bed in his little bed or on his blanket. He likes to spend time in what he claims is “his chair”, on the sofa, or will lay in a dog bed nearby if his human is busy working. He will not go to bed at night until all his humans are accounted for and in bed too. It’s his job after all, to protect his humans; so, if they are moving around, you can be assured he will also be up watching them.

Griff travels well and wants to go with you no matter where you are going. If he sneaks out the door he will go back inside when told. He just doesn’t want to miss out on anything exciting.
