Meet foster boy, Toby — a 15 pound, 13-year-old gray mini schnauzer with the soul of a gentle companion and the charm of a mature gentleman. He’s in the Panhandle of Florida waiting for you.
Toby is the kind of dog who seems to understand the value of slow mornings, soft blankets, and good company. His favorite things include chest rubs, curling up for a cuddle, and being near his people while they go about their day. He has that sweet old-soul presence that makes a house feel calmer just by being in it.
Toby is great with other dogs and with children.
He’s a little hard of hearing these days… although, to be fair, there’s also a strong possibility some of it is classic schnauzer selective hearing. He’s still very tuned in to snacks, affection, and will sound a short alarm if someone sneaks into the house without telling him.
The vet says Toby has good teeth for his age, and he’s currently on a few simple medications to help support his liver, soothe his skin itchies, and prevent nighttime “tinkle leaks” when he’s in a deep snooze.
Toby has been shuffled around a bit before entering rescue. So he’s really looking for a soft place to land, loving people to adore, and someone who appreciates the quiet magic of a senior dog. He’s sweet, comforting, and full of heart… the kind of companion who makes you wonder how you ever lived without him.
If you have a perfect place in your home and your heart for Toby to live his retirement years, please fill out an application and ask for Toby.
