Hi, I’m Max… a 7-year-old, 18 lb. schnauzer-mix with a love of the outdoors and sunshine. I’m in the Charlotte area of NC. SLR rescued me from a scary shelter. I voiced my opinion about being there. I’m told I have strong lungs. Now that I’m in a home I’m not so crazy. Even when the human lady leaves, I have my doggie pals to hang with. (The human lady watches us on her spy-cam!) I’m so grateful that SLR rescued me. I was hurting with bladder stones, and the nice doctor removed them so I’m all better. I look like a dog but have the appetite of a bear. I pace like an expectant father when my meal is being prepared. Then I wag my beautiful natural tail AND my entire body in anticipation. 

I will come when called, especially if there’s a treat involved. The human lady says I bribe easily. I love to play chase with a ball or Frisbee. But more than that, I love to be cuddled. I will join you in the human bed if that’s ok. I might bark when I first meet you, but that’s only to get attention so you will pet me. Everyone says I’m extremely sweet.

The human lady says I probablt should have a fenced yard. And I don’t need a crate cause I am good in the house and am house trained. Also, she doesn’t have any cats, so getting along with cats is an unknown for me, but I get along fine with the other dogs here. I am leash trainned, good in the car and good for my grooming, You can pick me and I do not mind because I like cuddles.
