Meet Max. He is a 5 yr. old boy being fostered in north Georgia. Max is a 15 lb. sweetheart who needs some time for his real sweet personality to shine. Max looks like a Schnauzer, but his DNA test says otherwise. Max is a Shih Tzu/Maltese mix. He does not shed.

Max should have an experienced adopter, because although he is super sweet once he knows you, in the beginning, that will not be apparent. He is good with other dogs, but not with cats or children. He is housetrained, crate and leash trained. He did spend some time with a trainer, who said he thought Max’s issue was that he had been abused in the past and needed a lot of time to learn to trust someone. Once he trust you he will be your best friend.

Max would do best in a home with not a lot of different people in and out of the home. He would do well with a patient person or a couple. He doe walk on leash, but would really like to have a fenced yard.

We would prefer that an adopter for Max be found in the Atlanta or north Georgia area, as he will do best if he has several meetings with a prospective adopter.
