Tango2
Tango is a semi-retired 12-year-old salt & pepper male miniature schnauzer who was
surrendered by his owner. He is being fostered in Durham NC. He weighs 17 lbs., has natural ears, and a docked tail. Tango lived with his human mom and dad since he was a teeny little puppy, but because his dad passed away and his mom had to move into a Senior living facility (where slamming doors made his bark meter go off), he had to pack his bags and begin to look for a new family. Are you his new family? Tango loves to watch television and look out windows. He might even take up reading if you teach him… he is a fast learner!

Tango5Tango is very well behaved, is housebroken, and rides in cars with ease. He loves to go on walks (and he sometimes likes to choose the route), he likes to run around the backyard with his foster friends, and bark at strangers to make sure they know he’s there! Tango always asks permission to join his friends on the couch to snuggle or on the “big bed” but will happily sleep on his own bed if required. Tango even has a funny little whine to express his desires. He is food motivated, and accepts treats carefully, and will wait his turn.

Tango4When Tango goes outside to potty, he takes care of “business” then quickly returns to the door to come right back inside. He likes the comforts of home! Tango is also a great guard dog and protects his foster mom’s house from anything suspicious.

Tango6Tango had to have a few teeth extracted earlier this year, but he can still eat cookies and chew on Whimzees! He is getting used to brushing his teeth and finds the doggy toothpaste flavor somewhat interesting. Tango takes medicine to keep his liver healthy, and his vet insists that it’s important for him to stay on them. For this reason, his adoption fee is discounted. If you are looking for a companion for yourself or your dog family, Tango just might be the one!
