Sweet ‘Bentley’ is being fostered on the West Coast of FL. 'Bentley' is the true definition of a dog who needed to be rescued. He lived his whole life alone, outside on a patio. He had very little to no human contact. 'Bentley' is only 4 years old. He is dark grey, weighs 15 lbs, and has natural ears and a docked tail. Of course he is neutered and up-to-date on all of his vaccines.
When 'Bentley' first arrived at his foster home, he was afraid of everyone and everything and spent the first week curled up in the back of a crate, not wanting to come out for fear of what was outside. He has come a long way since he was rescued and continues to make progress. He is very sweet and loving to his foster mom, but is still very nervous and unsure of new people and new environments.
'Bentley' is house trained, stays in a playpen if left alone during the day and sleeps in his foster mom's bed with one of the resident Schnauzers. He is leash trained and walks well on a leash with his foster mom. However, he does not walk well on a leash with someone new and will try to escape from his collar or harness. For this reason, a very good harness would be required or a fenced in yard as he does not come to his name (working on that). 
'Bentley' is looking for a calm, quiet home. He would enjoy having someone home most of the time with him. He seems to worry when his foster mom leaves the house. No children for this loving boy. He gets along well with the three resident female Schnauzers. He is not an Alpha. He enjoys playing with soft toys. He needs another sweet, calming dog to be his companion. Bentley had a very rough start in life which makes him fearful, shy, and timid. However, once he comes out of his shell and trusts you, he's an amazing dog - happy, loving, playful, and sweet. He has made so much progress in his foster home. However due to the previous neglect, he has special needs that will require someone with extra love and patience to work with him and be patient while he continues to overcome his fear and apprehension.
