'Bentley' is house trained, stays in a playpen if left alone during the day and sleeps in his foster mom's bed with one of the resident Schnauzers. He is leash trained and walks well on a leash with his foster mom. However, he does not walk well on a leash with someone new and will try to escape from his collar or harness. For this reason, a fenced in yard is required as he does not come to his name (working on that).
'Bentley' is looking for a calm, quiet home. He would enjoy having someone home most of the time with him. He seems to worry when his foster mom leaves the house. No children for this loving boy. He gets along well with the three resident female Schnauzers. He is not an Alpha. He enjoys playing with soft toys. He needs another sweet, calming dog to be his companion. Bentley had a very rough start in life which makes him fearful, shy, and timid. However, once he comes out of his shell and trusts you, he's an amazing dog - happy, loving, playful, and sweet.
Bentley has made so much progress in his foster home. However, due to his previous neglect, he has special needs that will require someone with extra love and patience to work with him as he continues to overcome his fear and apprehension. Bentley is on a medication to help with his fears and anxiety. He may continue to need this for the distant future. He has the potential of being the best companion!
