My best friend, ‘Toby,’ and I are very thankful to both SLR and our foster parents for taking us into this rescue when our owner passed away. We are a bonded pair and must be adopted together (double the love). We love each other so much that we sleep in the same dog bed together.
My name is ‘Heidi.’ I am 10 years young. I am black and weigh in at 14 lbs. Foster mom tells me how sweet, calm and affectionate I am. She has two of her own dogs and we get along just fine as neither of them are an Alpha. Foster Mom says she is the Alpha. I enjoy my walks in the neighborhood. I walk very well on a leash. Although I do love to stop and smell the roses! I enjoy the fenced backyard at my foster home and go out frequently to enjoy the FL sunshine. I had a few bladder stones removed and I am now on a urinary diet. I have a little arthritis and the vet lady gives me a monthly shot so I can run in the backyard at my leisure!
My best friend, Toby, is 5 years young. He is white and weighs 22 lbs. (foster mom has him on a diet). He too is fine with the two resident dogs. Toby continues to work on his house training. He can be very anxious and fearful when going to see the vet lady. I think he is worried that he will be left there. He is given a calming pill ahead of time. Toby is not fond of being picked up but loves when you play fetch with him. He too, loves his walks in the neighborhood. He will bark with excitement on his walks. Toby comes when called and knows when it is bedtime. I love when he grooms me and play - wrestles with me. Foster mom says she loves watching how attached we are with one another.
Toby and I would do best in a loving, adult only home, who have a fenced yard but still enjoy taking a walk or two during the day. We love to sit on the sofa to cuddle with you. If after reading our autobiography, you are interested in knowing additional details about us, please complete an adoption application on the SLR web site and enter ‘Heidi & Toby’ as the sweet, bonded pair you would like to provide a loving forever home to.
