I am Birdie, a 15 lb 4 year old miniature schnauzer being fostered in the panhandle of FL. I am a beautiful girl and my coat is very soft. I have natural ears and a natural tail. I am house trained, crate trained and leash trained. I am a good girl for my baths and grooming. I am up to date on all my vaccines, and I have no health issues. I love going in the car on outings and going for my daily walks with my owner and our resident dog and other foster dog.  I like to watch the other dogs play, and I follow their lead when they run into the yard or bark at strangers who come by the house.

I was an SLR rescue two years ago but my owner passed away a a few weeks ago so now I am looking again for my forever home. There were a lot of strangers coming into my house when my owner was sick and that was very scary to me because I didn't understand what. was going on and where my owner went.  I am scared right now about my new surroundings so I will need someone who can be patient with me while I learn to trust again. I was used to a quiet home with my previous owner, and she liked to sit with me and snuggle. I can be happy in either a quiet home or in a home with other dogs but I don't think I would like being in a home with children or with very dominant dogs.

In the beginning you will have to catch me to get me to put my harness on, but I walk nicely once we're going. I like getting up on my human's bed in the evening for some neck scratches and belly rubs. In the daytime I like to watch whatever is going on from my kennel, which feels safe to me, as I am still learning to trust my environment.
