Beau is an 11 year old gentleman who loves to lounge wherever he can be near his humans. He is being fostered in northern MS.  He is is fully house trained, likes going on walks and nosing around the yard. He knows how to use a dog door and he will also remind you he needs out if that door is closed. He does great with other dogs his size (in the 20lbs range) but gets a bit intimidated by bigger dogs. He is working on letting his bigger foster brother live his life without getting barked at and is making improvement. He ignores our cat, even though she seeks him out to play with him..

Beau loves to sit on the couch with us, his rear legs aren't the strongest but he has learned to use steps when needed. He doesn't like being picked up much unless it's done just the way he wants it. (His foster Mom can tell you how to pick him up Beau's way.)   He would prefer a laid back household where his humans are home most of the day. He does ok being left unsupervised but he can be vocal about it. He loves giving kisses and will sit for treats, he just needs to be reminded to be careful sometimes. He has done great around strangers, but due to his age related grumpyness, he needs to be around a more adult crowd. He is up to date on shots, had his teeth cleaned and some growths removed. Our groomer said he did great while there, he loves getting toweled dry after playing in the rain also.

Beau would love to find a new family who understands he takes a little bit to get used to new places, but once he does, he falls into a routine fast, especially when he gets bribed with treats.  If you would love to give this sweet boy a place to live his doggie retirement years, please fill out an application and ask for Beau in MS.
