Happi and Jessie are the epitome of “Ladies of a Certain Age.” They may have a few years on
the books, but they don’t know that. They may be seniors, at 12 and 8 years old, respectively,
but they still look and move well. Active, alert, loving every minute of their new foster home.
Jumping in and out of the doggy door, patrolling the wooded backyard is their mode of activity.
They love riding in the car, going on walks, and snuggling in your lap.

These loves were given to SLR after their owner became very ill and had to start caring for herself first. They exhibit the personalities of dogs that have always been loved and cared for. They are very well behaved and totally housebroken, leash trained, and friendly with every human they meet. They‘ve had their vet visits and have a clean bill of health; up-to-date on shots, heartworm and flea and tick prevention. Happi weighs 14 and Jessie weighs 25 lbs, Jessie being the magnificent, taller lady in the white fur coat.

Both have found their voices, as most Schnauzers do. Jessie, in particular, likes to have chats across the fence with the neighbor dog. She stops chatting if you tell her not to. We’re working on that, along with Jessie’s excitement at meeting another dog on the trail. Happi thinks all of that talking is ridiculous. She just glides along.

Both need regular spa days, to include grooming (at least every 3 months), teeth brushing, ear cleaning, and pedicures of course. All ladies need pampering on occasion, you know. They also need to give you all the love and hugs they have.
