PieBud2

Buddy is looking for his forever person or family. He is a five-year old schnauzer, born with a cleft palate. It was fixed and left him with a trademark grin.  His original owner was less than kind but since being with SLR Buddy has learned to trust again and to experience love. He is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccinations and is house, crate-and leash-trained. He comes with all the extras. Heehee

Pie1Buddy has a lot of love to give. He’s a different dog now than the one we took in, but we would like him to find a kind and patient, schnauzer-experienced owner.

Pibud2Although he is five, he behaves like a  puppy in many ways. He would do best in a quiet home with at least one other doggie playmate. He flourishes in a routine so he knows what to expect. If he misbehaves and is corrected, it hurts his feelings, but he has learned to bounce back. Buddy enjoys toys throughout the day.

Pie5He’s one of those little dogs that works his way into your heart and will be there forever. He is very vocal and talks a lot. In fact, Buddy is pretty sensitive and notices if his person is upset. He wants to help, by being close by.

Pie3Buddy is in an active home right now and takes medicine to help keep him calm. He is extraordinarily smart and learns very quickly. He will do best with owners who are home a lot. Buddy has learned to handle separation, but will benefit from routine and time with his person or persons. When he is left home alone, he does best in a medium to large room with a special treat and his favorite toys for comfort. He would love a fenced yard where he can run or an active owner who enjoys walks or hikes.

Buddy is a sturdy 30 lbs. and loves to play ball or tugWhen he goes for car rides, he likes to have a toy with him. He needs to sleep in the same room as his owner because he needs to see you, even if he is on the floor in a doggie bed. Buddy's ideal home would have no young children, but he loves other dogs, and learns a lot from them.

PieBud5Buddy loves visitors but can show a lot of enthusiasm greeting them. Lately, he’s gotten much better about being groomed and his foster mom has been grooming him herself some. Buddy needs a take charge owner who is not a push-over. Like many schnauzers, he would like to be in charge. LOL  Another good thing about Buddy is he’s also food oriented which makes him very trainable.

Pibud3In summary Buddy is a happy little guy and would like to have a fenced back yard and someone with energy to keep up with him and who is home quite a bit. He would also like at least one other dog to hang out with. No young children! Buddy has come a long way in his journey to becoming a loving schnauzer. If you are interested in Buddy with the cute grin and the desire to be loved, please submit an application and ask for Buddy in Alabama.
