Hi everybody! My name is Betty White! I am a feisty little 13-year-old lady, and I am being fostered in Western NC. My owner was going through some difficult life changes, and unfortunately couldn’t keep me and my other doggy friends. SLR knows us seniors are special and still have a lot of love to give, and they stepped in to help me!
By the definition of feisty, I am tough, independent, and I have some of the cutest mannerisms. I’m not a lap dog, but I enjoy my comfy donut bed or my crate near where you are so I can be close to you! By the way, I LOVE my crate! My foster mom leaves it open for me all the time and I go in it to rest. She doesn’t even close the door anymore, but I can be found in there snoozing
away! I make cute little grumbles when I want a bite of your snack or if I am ready for my meals.
I will bounce and play with you when I am feeling extra spry! My foster mom says I am a busybody, as I like to patrol the house and yard and make sure I’m not missing anything!\.
You know us older babies are a little slower than some, our eyesight and hearing are not always the best. But when you come home from being gone or you wake me up in the morning for breakfast, my little nubbin tail will wag like crazy! I am not crazy about being picked up, but if you let me know you are there and don’t startle me, I am ok! When my foster mom first got me, I was a little wobbly in my back legs. After I started taking some medicine (it isn’t expensive), my legs feel much better, and I am moving much better and keeping up with the 2 big dogs in my foster home. I am fluffy right now but will hopefully be able to be groomed once I’ve had my medicine for a while and my legs are stronger! I just had my teeth cleaned too.
I am housebroken and crate-trained, and I am fine on a leash because my walk is slow and steady. Shorter walks are probably best for me, or a fenced yard I can explore. I am great in the car and don’t mind going for rides at all! As I said I am fine with other dogs and cats. I probably would not like young boisterous kids, though. I enjoy a quiet, calm home. My big round sweet eyes make me look like a little puppy sometimes.
If you would like a low key, calm and sweet companion, please consider bringing me into your home! I’m a sweet girl and I settle in very well even with all the changes in my life.
